The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research is committed to the economic transformation of Southside Virginia, understanding that this will require the need to increase the educational opportunities available to the region's citizens. Academic programs offered through the IALR are designed to address three needs: preparing a core economy workforce for the future, meeting current employer needs, and expanding access to higher education opportunities.
