Join us for a real “lunch and learn” experience as you graft your own English cucumber under the direction of Senior Scientist Kedong Da PhD.  Participants will graft an English cucumber plant onto a gourd rootstock.  The gourd rootstock provides the plant with a stronger support system and significantly increases the growing potential for the plant.

**There is no fee, but participants must register for the event. All materials and lunch are included.  Lab Day will be May 11 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.  Link to Registration

Background:  The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research recently received a grant from the Virginia Agriculture Council to work with growers in the counties of Henry, Franklin, Pittsylvania, and Halifax to share research with greenhouse farmers on how to grow high-value vegetables and cultivation best practices for English cucumbers.
