The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) is pleased to announce that their Public Relations and Communications department has won three awards from the Blue Ridge Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, presented at the organization’s 22nd annual Summit Awards.

IALR received two Gold awards—one for the Social Media category for IALR’s tactic to connect stakeholders to the summer internship program and one for the Newsletter (external audiences) category. This is the fourth year in a row IALR received a Gold award for its monthly newsletter.

The team received a Silver award for the Multimedia Program (two minutes or less) category for a video of IALR’s summer internship experience. This is the second year in a row IALR has received an award for a multimedia program.

“Serving as a regional catalyst for economic transformation requires continuous, strategic communications efforts to ensure partners and supporters are aligned and vital audiences are aware and engaged,” said Mark Gignac, Executive Director of IALR. “We are fortunate to benefit from the talents and expertise of our Communications team members, Allison Moore and Daniel Dalton, as well as their director, Linda Green. I am extremely proud of their accomplishments.”

The Summit Awards recognize the best in public relations work in western Virginia. The chapter received more than 70 entries in various campaign and tactics categories. Gold and Silver awards were presented in most categories.
