  • Update on recent threatening communications
    Over the past two weeks, our community has been subjected to an ongoing series of threatening and harassing messages. These messages have been posted on websites and been e-mailed to a few individuals across campus. The messages have been disruptive to our community and have resulted in understandable concern for our safety and security.

  • April 16 Memorial Bench dedication scheduled
    Virginia Tech will honor the community of survivors of April 16, 2007.

  • 2010 General Assembly summary
    The 2010 General Assembly adjourned March 14, one day later than scheduled, after grappling with the greatest decline in state revenues since World War II that necessitated serious budget reductions in all areas of state government. In the end, the General Assembly was able to protect higher education from reductions beyond those presented in former Gov. Tim Kaine's introduced budget, and also to provide some good news for state employees with respect to furloughs, benefits, and compensation.
