American National Bank & Trust Co., First Piedmont Corp., and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. Danville are hosting a breakfast at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research with Jay Timmons, president, and CEO of the National Association of Manufacturers, and Luanne Rife, executive director, and Dwayne Yancey, executive editor, of Cardinal News.

Jay Timmons, who heads the largest manufacturing association in the U.S., representing small and large manufacturers across all industrial sectors, will talk about the future of manufacturing and what the region can do to further position itself as an advanced manufacturing center.

Luanne Rife and Dwayne Yancey who co-founded Cardinal News, the fastest growing news organization in Virginia, will explain how the media play a role in the economy by delivering in-depth reporting on critical issues, and by fostering informed discussions.

Breakfast will be served, starting at 7:15 a.m., with the program scheduled to begin at 7:45 a.m. An optional tour of IALR will be available afterward.
