IALR awarded 16 high school seniors with $1,000 scholarships to support their continued education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The scholarship program, which is available through the IALR Foundation, supports talent development in STEM career fields, which is significantly important to Southern Virginia’s economic transformation. The program is available to qualifying seniors who are interested in STEM and live throughout IALR’s service region. IALR’s STEM commitment is also evident through its research centers, precision machining program and advanced learning programs.
