The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) features several rapid-launch high bay spaces that can be utilized by industry and partners. Featuring both high bay spaces and office and meeting space, these rapid-launch facilities enable businesses to reduce startup times and improve efficiencies while establishing permanent operations.
This space allows companies to begin limited operations off-site during what is traditionally the initial downtime as new businesses wait for their factory to be constructed and equipped to support full operations.
IALR’s campus includes an array of bays and office space in different buildings.
Rapid Launch Use Cases
Some use cases for IALR’s rapid-launch space include:
- Launchpad for an expanding organization or company
- Refine/define new product lines, product versions or product launch efforts – for optimization, cost analysis, and production planning prior to deployment in a manufacturing facility (minimizes production disruption and cost leakage)
- Conduct new equipment and/or technology analysis and refinement for turnkey implementations prior to being placed into production
- Define product line and process, as well as training of workforce to support the changes prior to full production deployment
- Engage in expansion efforts offsite while facilities are being expanded or upfitted
- Conduct secured and isolated covert operations
Some of these rapid launch facilities are located inside IALR’s Center for Manufacturing Advancement (CMA), which offers a range of optimization services including subtractive machining, metrology and Industry 4.0.
