Jonathan Mercer serves as a CNC Machining instructor after joining the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program in 2024. As an instructor, Mercer helps develop students into effective machinists ready to join the rapidly growing needs of the Defense and Submarine Industrial Bases. Prior to joining ATDM, he completed his journeyman machinist apprenticeship through Norfolk Naval Shipyard. Mercer holds multiple industry certifications as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology through Longwood University.
