Julie Brown, Ph.D.

Dr. Brown joined IALR in 2013 and currently serves as the Vice President of Advanced Learning. She has over 25 years of experience in education, working for a public research university, two community colleges and regional K-12 districts. Dr. Brown has extensive experience in grant and program development, reporting and evaluation and fiscal accountability. She is responsible for providing leadership to a dedicated team that is focused on evidence-based, talent development programming, aligned with economic development interests. A graduate of the Sorensen Institute and Lead Virginia, Dr. Brown serves on numerous boards including the Danville Public Schools Education Foundation, the Center for Early Success, Sovah Health, and the West Piedmont Workforce Development Board. Dr. Brown holds degrees from the University of Virginia, Longwood University and Old Dominion University.
