Stewart East

Stewart East is the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research’s (IALR) Senior Facilities Manager. East oversees electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lawn care, janitorial, and security on IALR’s campus, which has five buildings that total over 220,000 square feet. This space includes a variety of uses, such as conference services, research, education, and leased space. East’s experience includes mining, chemical, and machining industries and operating a beef cattle farm in Pittsylvania County. He graduated from Chatham High School, Danville Community College with an associate degree in electricity, and Averett University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. East is also a licensed electrician in the Commonwealth of Virginia and an active member and deacon at Sheva Church of Christ in Pittsylvania County.
